Ticket Changes

If you have purchased a ticket(s) that has a fare type allowing changes we are usually able to assist you. Please locate your fare type printed on your ticket and check the corresponding policies before contacting customer service.  If you aren't sure about your fare conditions, please check our train and bus ticket change pages for more information.

Please head to our contact page to submit your change request. So we can make your changes and get your on your way, please ensure you enter your departure date and travel provider when submitting your request. 

If you were transferred to one of our partner’s websites to complete your booking, GoEuro has no access to your booking data and cannot make any changes on your behalf. This means you will need to contact the travel company directly to make any changes. The travel company’s contact information will usually be provided in your booking confirmation email.

Belgium

The modification and cancellation options depend on the type of fare selected for your ticket. Before confirming your booking, you can check the fare conditions by clicking on the info bubble .

Thalys - Eurostar - IC (InterCity)

 

Thalys

  • Non-Flex (Standard Mini): No exchange and no cancellation
  • Semi-Flex (Standard and Comfort): 15 euro modification fee, 50% cancellation fee before departure
  • Full-Flex (Premium): Exchangeable and refundable without fees before departure, 50% cancellation fee up until 2 months after departure.
 

Eurostar

  • Full-Flex (Business Premier): The ticket can be exchanged or refunded free of charge before and up to two months after departure.
  • Semi-Flex (Standard and Standard Premier): The ticket can be changed once before departure, subject to an administration fee of 40 euros (standard) or 50 euros (Standard Premier), plus the price difference with the new ticket. The ticket is non refundable.

InterCity

  • Non-Flex (Standard Belgium): No exchange and no cancellation
  • Semi-Flex (Standard): No exchange, Cancellation until the day before departure subject to a 5 euro penalty, cancellation on the actual day of departure subject to a 15 euro penalty

France

TGV - INTERCITÉS - TER - TGV Lyria

 

TGV

  • Loisir (1st & 2nd class): The ticket can be exchanged or refunded free of charge up to 31 days before departure. From 30 days until 2 days before departure, the ticket can be modified or cancelled with a penalty of 5 euros per ticket and person. On the day before and on the day of departure, the penalty will be increased to 15 euros per ticket and person. The ticket cannot be exchanged nor refunded after departure. 
  • Pro (1st & 2nd class): The ticket is exchangeable and refundable free of charge until departure. After that, you can exchange it up to 2 hours after departure from the departure station.
  • Prem's: The ticket cannot be modified nor cancelled.
 

INTERCITÉS

  • Standard (1st & 2nd class): Without a seat reservation, the ticket can be exchanged free of charge for a ticket with an assigned seat, a lesser discount or an upgrade before its expiry date. A 10% fee will be applied for all other exchanges. The ticket is refundable with a 10% fee before its expiry date.
  • Loisir (1st & 2nd class) and Leisure Week-End: The ticket can be exchanged and cancelled free of charge up until the day before departure. On the day of departure, modifications are subject to a fee of maximum 12 €, plus the eventual difference with the new ticket. It cannot be exchanged nor cancelled after departure.
  • Pro (1st and 2nd class): The ticket can be exchanged and cancelled free of charge until departure. After that, you can exchange it up to 2 hours after departure from the departure station.
  • Prem's: The ticket cannot be modified nor cancelled.
 

TER

  • Normal: Non-refundable, non-modifiable
 

TGV Lyria

  • FLEX (1st & 2nd class): The ticket can be exchanged or cancelled free of charge before departure. E-ticket: Ticket exchangeable free of charge up to 30 minutes after the train's departure.
  • SEMI-FLEX (1st & 2nd class): The ticket can be exchanged or cancelled, subject a fee of 20 € until departure. The tickets cannot be exchanged nor refunded after departure.
  • NON-FLEX (1st & 2nd class): The ticket cannot be modified nor cancelled.

Germany

Deutsche Bahn

ICE and IC (InterCity)

  • Sparpreis (Saving fare): The ticket can be refunded up until the day before departure, subject to an administration fee of € 19.  After your scheduled time of departure the ticket is non-changeable and non-refundable.
  • Flexpreis (Flexible fare): The ticket can be refunded free of charge before the first day of validity. From its first day of validity, it can be cancelled subject to an administration fee of € 19.

IC and Freccia - Regional train - Thello  

 

IC and Freccia

  • Base:  The ticket can be exchanged free of charge and unlimited times before departure at the ticket counter at any station. Up to 1 hour after departure, it can  be exchanged free of charge once at train ticket office at the departure station only. The ticket can be cancelled before departure with a 20% penalty. After departure cancellation is not allowed.
  • Economy: The ticket cannot be cancelled. The ticket can be exchanged only once before departure, by paying the difference between the full price (Base fare) applied to the train and the amount already paid. Only the date and the hour of the departure may be changed, the route or the category of train cannot be amended.
  • Super Economy: The ticket cannot be modified nor cancelled.
 

Regional train

  • Ordinaria: The ticket can be cancelled and modified until the day before the departure.  Refunds are possible on tickets over €10 with a 20% cancellation fee. 
  • Trenord Ordinaria:  The ticket cannot be cancelled or modified.  

 

Thello

  • Flexi Adult: The ticket cannot be modified and is refundable with a 10% penalty up to 24 hours before the departure. It cannot be cancelled less than 24 hours before or after departure. If purchased on board of train, there is a 15 € surcharge per passenger.
  • Imminente (only for night trains): This fare can be booked from 24 hours before the train departure. The ticket cannot be modified nor cancelled.
    If purchased on board of train, there is a 15 € surcharge per passenger.
  • Go: The ticket cannot be modified, but is refundable with a 50% penalty up to 24 hours before the departure. It cannot be cancelled less than 24 hours before departure and after departure.
  • Smart: The ticket cannot be modified nor cancelled.

 

Italo

The modification and cancellation options depend on the type of fare selected for your ticket. Before confirming your booking, you can check the fare conditions by clicking on the info bubble.

  • Low cost: Non-refundable. Changeable- For 50% of the original ticket price, in addition to any price difference between the new and old ticket, this fare can be modified up to three days before departure.
  • Economy: Refundable. Changeable- Up to 3 minutes prior to departure time the ticket can be changed for a 20% fee. The ticket can be refunded, with a 40% fee.
  • Flex: Refundable- Ticket can be cancelled with a 20% cancellation fee up to three minutes before departure. Changeable- free of charge up to three minutes before departure. This ticket can also be changed to the next available train, at the Italo counter or by calling Italo Assistenza +39 06 89371892, up to two hours after the original departure time.

 

Netherlands

Renfe

For tickets purchased through GoEuro, changes will be allowed depending on the ticket policies and the availability of the requested change. 

Please take into consideration that changes are only available through GoEuro. Renfe does not recognize GoEuro tickets at the stations, as these are generated through a separate system.

There are different ticket types with different policies. Please refer to the list of fares below:

  • PROMO Fare:  It is neither possible to change nor to cancel the ticket.
  • PROMO+ Fare:  Changes are allowed with a fee of 20% of the original ticket price, plus the price difference. Cancellations are possible with a 30% penalty of the ticket price.
  • Flexible Fare:  The tickets can be changed without fees up to 30 minutes before departure.  If the price of the new ticket is higher, you will have to pay the difference. When the price of the new ticket is lower, the difference will be refunded to you.  Both the destination and the arrival station can be changed.  There is a cancellation fee of 5% of the ticket fare.
  • General fare:  Changes are possible.  Should the new ticket be of a higher price then this difference must be paid. Cancellations are allowed at a penalty of 15% of the ticket fare.
  • Round-trip fare (ida y vuelta):  Both the date and time of the outward and return tickets can be changed separately up to 30 minutes before departure.  Departure and arrival stations can also be changed. If there is a price difference for a new ticket, you must pay the corresponding amount. The outbound and return journey may be cancelled individually, at a cost of 40% of the price of the ticket cancelled. If both journeys are cancelled, there will be a 15% penalty.  For more details, we invite you to visit Renfe's policies.

 

United Kingdom

 

Changes are essentially new bookings, so book a new ticket for the exact same route as the original booking and apply for a refund with the ticket you will not use. You can change your ticket but the destination and departure stations cannot change, only the time and date.

Cancellations depend on the terms and conditions of your ticket fare:

“Advanced” tickets are non-refundable.

“Off-peak” and “Anytime" tickets are refundable if unused.

Ouibus

You can exchange or cancel your booking up until 30 minutes before the departure of the bus through: 
  • the “My bookings” section on the Ouibus website - free of charge
  • Ouibus ticket offices - €5 fees/passenger
  • the Ouibus customer service (phone) - €10 fees/passenger

If you no longer wish to travel, you can cancel your ticket directly from the "My bookings" section on the Ouibus website. You will then receive a voucher equivalent to the amount of your trip. However, no refund can be made. To exchange your ticket though the Ouibus website, please do the following:

  1. Go to "My bookings"
  2. Enter your information
  3. Rebook or click to cancel
  4. Select the changes you want to make
  5. Confirm your choices

 

Germany

Flixbus

Cancellations and changes are possible up to 15 minutes before departure. You will then receive a Flixbus credit voucher equal to the amount of your original fare. This voucher is valid for use within 12 months. If making a change, simply redeem this voucher when making your new booking. If you are seeking a monetary refund, then you must apply on the Flixbus website. Please note, that refund applications are subject to a €15 processing fee.

Italy

Baltour

NATIONAL FARES: It's possible to cancel the ticket before departure and you will receive an 80% refund.

Date and time changes are permitted prior to departure with a 3€ fee and an eventual price difference with the new ticket. The date of the new ticket must be for a trip within the following 30 days from the original booking. The change of itinerary is not allowed.

Promo, Lowcost, Economy and Speciale fares are non-modifiable and non-cancellable.

 INTERNATIONAL FARES: Cancellations are allowed 48 hours prior to departure with a 75% refund, whereas cancellations after 48 hours before departure will result in a 50% refund.

It's permitted to change the date and the time with a 5 € fee for trips departing within the following 30 days after the original booking. Regular fare tickets can be modified also 72 hours after departure by paying 50% of the ticket price as penalty.

Promo and Lowcost tickets are non-changeable and non-cancellable.

 

Netherlands

Modifications and Cancellations

Changes will be allowed depending on the ticket policies and the availability of the requested change. Please take into consideration that changes are only available through GoEuro.

No cancellations and changes are admissible with promotional tickets.

Changes

Changes may be made by contacting our Customer Service Team at GoEuro.

A change in the travel date is only possible if requested with a minimum of 2 hours prior to the journey. Only one change is allowed per ticket which is free of charge.

Changes will only affect the date and/or time of the service, as it is not possible to make any changes regarding the route, passenger's personal details and seat assignment.

Cancellations

Cancellations may be made through our Cancellation link at least 2 hours before departure.

In the case of a cancellation, the amount of the ticket will be returned to the passenger, deducting 10% if requested at least 48 hours prior to departure and 20% if requested between 48 and 2 hours before departure. The bookings fees are non refundable.

The ticket is only valid for the date and time appearing on it. Non-presentation of the passenger at the time and date of departure will imply in the loss of the trip and will not incur to any change in the ticket or a refund.

Specific conditions for Alsa Ticket Cancellation:

In the case of a cancellation the full amount of the ticket will be refunded if requested at least 48 hours before the departure. If the cancellation is requested between 24 and 48 hours, there will be a 10% penalty. In the event that the cancellation is requested less than 24 hours before 20% shall be deducted from the amount of the ticket.

If the ticket was changed previously, a 20% penalty will be applied when requested with more than 48 hours in advance. For these types of tickets, the cancellation fee will be 30% when requested between 48 and 24 hours in advance and 40% of its amount, when requested less than 24 hours in advance prior to the departure.

 

United Kingdom

Your ability to change or cancel your ticket depends on the fare you have purchased:

Restricted fare - This ticket cannot be refunded or exchanged.
 
Standard fare - This ticket can be exchanged before departure by calling GoEuro Customer Service. A 5 GBP fee will apply. An excess fare may also apply if the changes result in a higher cost. The ticket is not refundable.
 
Fully Flexible fare. Unlimited exchanges can be made before departure for free by contacting GoEuro Customer Service. This ticket can also be refunded up to 72 hours before departure for a 6 GBP fee by contacting GoEuro Customer Service.

If you have booked a ticket with any of the Airlines listed below please follow the links and contact the provider directly to request a modification. 

For all other airlines please submit your modification request by calling our dedicated flight center  on +44 808 178 1504 or by submitting a request in writing via our contact page.  please ensure you enter your departure date and airline provider when submitting your request. 

Your ability to modify your flight booking depends on the terms and conditions attached to the fare selected during the booking process.  

When you complete a booking for multiple travellers, GoEuro automatically assigns seats as close together as possible. If you and your travel companions are separated or were not seated according to your booking preferences, it is most likely because of limited seating availability.

Unfortunately, we cannot change seats after a booking has been made. If you did not receive your preferred seats— don’t worry. In our experience, the majority of travellers are happy to switch seats if you ask.

 

 

The tickets you receive are created by our system automatically, using the information entered during the booking process. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change this information once a ticket has been generated.

Generally, if a mistake is minor (such as one letter being missing or wrong) or logical (such as mix-up of the first and second name), this shouldn’t cause you any problems travelling as staff are aware that when booking online mistakes can happen.

However, as a travel search and booking platform, we cannot guarantee that any ticket with incorrect details will be valid. If you have any concerns regarding the passenger details on your ticket, we recommend checking with the travel provider directly to see if your ticket will be accepted. The name of your travel provider will be printed on your ticket.
